புறங்கூறிப் பொய்த்துயிர் வாழ்தலின் சாதல் அறங்கூற்றும் ஆக்கத் தரும்.

Purangkūri poyththuyir vāzhthalan sāthal Arangkūṟṟum ākkath tharum.

To live by slander and falsehood is worse than death— / for death itself brings an accounting that builds the soul.
