மேற்பிறந்தா ராயினும் கல்லாதார் கீழ்ப்பிறந்தும் கற்றார் அனைத்திலர் பாடு.

Mer-pirandha-raa-yinum kal-laadhar keezh-pirandham Katraar anayithilr paadu.

Though born of high station, the unlearned fall below; the learned who rose from low birth suffer no shame in any gathering.
