கேட்டார்ப் பிணிக்கும் தகையவாய்க் கேளாரும் வேட்ப மொழிவதாம் சொல்.

Kēṭṭārkp piṇikkum takaiyvāyk kēḷārum vēṭpa moḻivathām sol.

Words that wound those who listen and please those who don't—such is speech that binds and harms. Speak only what serves the ear and the mind.
