பயனில்சொல் பாராட்டு வானை மகன்எனல் மக்கட் பதடி யெனல்.

Payanil sol pāraātu vānai Makan enal makkat patadi yenal.

Praise not words that bear no fruit, nor call one a worthy son; judge a child by the steadiness of his deeds alone.
